This could be you

Join me to learn the ins and outs of darning your clothing and textiles. Darning is a versatile skill to extend the life of your clothing beyond normal wear and tear or as a way to keep wearing favorites that have seen better days. Darning can be nearly invisible or very visible, it's up to you!

Week 1

The 1st week will be about easing in with darning materials and learning simple techniques for darning, starting with socks.

Week 2

On the 2nd week we will focus on darning in different shapes and with pattern, moving onto mending sweaters and other textiles.

Week 3

This week spotlights moths and how to repair moth damage, including some tips to moth-proof and what to do when moths have made a home in your sweaters.

Week 4

On the final week, we will foray into the elusive duplicate stitch/matched stitch/swiss darn. If you've been wanting to learn this technique, this is one not to miss!

Class starts February 1st!

Ready for class?

I hope you'll join me in February to learn 8+ darning techniques. For me, darning started with some smartwool socks and continued with learning different techniques to be able to darn more or less visibly and with an eye toward color, shape, and pattern. I'll teach you how to darn step-by-step, unraveling your darning questions as we go.
